The Well-Dressed Man

Dress codes have become more relaxed in many situations. This can makes dressing more challenging since there isn’t a “uniform”, as suits were in the past. Most men have jeans, a navy blazer, and a blue shirt. A few new items and combinations can give the basic wardrobe a sophisticated and well-traveled look. Recently, I helped my friend, photographer extraordinaire Ashley Hylbert, style the models for a photo shoot and the pictures in this post are from that session.

The classics get an update for men ages 25 to 75.

Black jeans, a dress shirt and a blazer take the look from good to wow.

Dark jeans, a turtleneck (I LOVE turtlenecks on men!) and a great looking jacket.

This navy sports jacket is paired with a sweater and shirt and black jeans. Again, pretty simple yet amazing looking!

Try stepping out of the khaki doldrums with a pair of colored pants. The scarf adds warmth and style.

This not so basic scarf takes the look up a few notches.

These warm green corduroy pants pair nicely with the plaid sports jacket and grey turtleneck.

Ashley is such an amazing photographer and Matt such a great subject that I could’t decide between these two photos so I’m sharing both!

The letterman jacket gets an update here – what was old is new again!
