Save or Splurge on Spring’s Best Fashion?

How do you decide where to save and where to splurge on your spring wardrobe? If I am going to wear something for a long time or if it will be a workhorse for me I may splurge on it. I usually spend less on trendy items. See if some of these pieces are worth the splurge to you.

The 70’s theme continues this spring. Jumpsuits are a fun substitute for a dress. They are good-looking for evening with heels as well as day wear.

The thought of wearing a tweed jacket once the temperatures rise may seem unlikely. There is quite a bit of it popping up for the season. Choose lighter-weight fabrics to keep it spring-looking. For a more casual look pair a jacket with jeans and a tee. Or try a tweed skirt with a denim shirt.
Left, J. Crew tweed motorcycle jacket, $188
Right, Giambattista Valli Guipure lace-trimmed jacket, $3,350, Net-A-Porter
Bottom, Gucci Cropped boucle-tweed jacket, $2,800, Net-A-Porter

One of spring’s hottest fashions the cold-shoulder top. While this trend has been around for a few years, I expect it will continue for a few more seasons.

Right, Yigal Azrouel Cold-Shoulder Silk Crepe Blouse, $790, Nordstrom

There are a lot of chunky shoes with wide straps again this season. I find this isn’t the most attractive look for many women. For a basic ‘running around’ sandal I like the two flip flops above.
Top, Sam Edelman Oliver Flip Flop, $40, Jamie
Bottom, Tory Burch Terra Flip Flop, $125, Tory Burch
